The inaugural Rockford Boxing Classic (RBC) is set for Saturday, August 13, at Rockford City Market Pavilion. Sanctioned by USA Boxing, RBC is the Rockford region’s premier outdoor boxing event and fundraiser for the Rockford Patriots Boxing Club of the Patriots Gateway Community Center.

EVENT AT-A-GLANCE

  • 5 p.m. - Gates Open (Food & Beverages, Music)

  • 6 p.m. - Youth Bouts

  • 8 p.m. - Police / Fire Bouts

  • 9 p.m. - Awards & Closing Program

Featured competitors include Cory Magnuson from the Rockford Police Department, regional championship boxers, and local youth from the Rockford Patriots Boxing Club.

Guests are encouraged to support the Club by buying a table of eight for $250--email Jimmy or Nick to reserve your table. Free general admission is also permitted (bring your own lawn chairs).

ABOUT ROCKFORD PATRIOTS BOXING CLUB

Established in 2003, Rockford Patriots Boxing Club has mentored thousands of youngsters with dreams of becoming boxing national champions, world qualifiers and Olympic medalists. A Patriots Gateway Community Center nonprofit program, the Club develops champions in and out of the ring, while keeping the health, safety and success of its students as the top priority. RPBC has produced 21 national champions and served more than 5,000 youth over nearly four decades thanks to the commitment of the Jimmy Goodman family.

ABOUT PATRIOTS GATEWAY COMMUNITY CENTER

Patriots Gateway Community Center was started by the people of Zion Lutheran Church in 1995 to provide opportunities for success for the children and youth of zip code 61104. Patriots opened in 1998 and has served thousands of kids and families in the Rockford area.
